What Is the CAP AEPE?
The CAP AEPE (Certificat d’Aptitude Professionnelle – Accompagnant Éducatif Petite Enfance) is the official early childhood education diploma in France. Issued by the French Ministry of National Education, it allows graduates to work with children aged 0 to 6 in various settings: nurseries, kindergartens, preschools, or in-home care.
This qualification is ideal for anyone who wants to pursue a meaningful career supporting child development, safety, and wellbeing. The training is free for apprentices and can be adapted for international students or residents living abroad through distance learning.
